Suffolk Mind is seeking a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, fixed-term basis in Ipswich, Suffolk!

Competitive Salary: On offer is a competitive salary of £27,202 - £30,856 per annum.

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with length of service (pro rata for part-time employees) + your birthday off and the option to buy or sell annual leave.

As a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the REST Hub service (Recover, Eat, Support, Talk), providing holistic support to individuals experiencing mental health distress. Acting as the lead practitioner on shift, you will oversee operations, support staff and volunteers, and ensure a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all service users.

Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027 (subject to service contract renewal).

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of the REST Hub service, providing direction and support to staff and volunteers.
  • Build positive relationships with individuals accessing the service, offering emotional support including in crisis situations.
  • Manage service flow, capacity, and staffing levels, responding dynamically to demand and risk.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and appropriate support pathways are identified.
  • Support staff and volunteer development, including supervision, induction, and ongoing guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records, data collection, and reporting in line with data protection requirements.
  • Promote a calm, inclusive, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Support ongoing service development in line with organisational policies and objectives.

As a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker, you will have at least 1-2 years' experience working with adults in a mental health environment and be confident working in high-pressure, emotionally demanding situations. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and recovery-focused support, with experience delivering both 1:1 and group support. You will be confident supporting staff and volunteers, handling sensitive situations professionally, and maintaining clear boundaries. A qualification in mental health (e.g. NVQ Level 3, DipSW, RMN, Counselling or equivalent) is desirable, along with experience managing volunteers or small teams.

You must be willing to undertake an enhanced Adult's Barred DBS check.
