Spider is advertising on behalf of an independent, privately owned logistics business headquartered in Ipswich, with depots across the UK and Ireland as they currently are recruiting for a number of Forklift Driver and Warehouse Operatives to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role:
As a Forklift Driver and Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient offloading and loading of cargo, maintaining an organised warehouse environment, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30 or 11:30-20:00, with overtime required during busy periods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating a forklift and carrying out manual handling activities, including container handballing
- Picking, packing, and tracking inventory while ensuring safe loading and offloading of cargo
- Maintaining stock levels and supporting goods in and goods out processes
- Keeping the warehouse and yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Supporting the wider pallet network team during peak business periods
About you:
As a Forklift Driver and Warehouse Operative, you will have previous experience working in a warehouse environment and must hold a valid Counterbalance (1.8T) forklift truck licence. A Reach truck licence would be an additional advantage. Ideally you will have some supervisory or team leader experience. You will be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment, with good communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively. You will be flexible in your approach, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and confident following safety procedures and operational guidelines. You will need solid experience in loading and unloading trucks (with good health and safety awareness), completing paperwork, picking orders and problem solving.
In an ideal world, you will have experience with:
- ETSF / high sortation unpacking
- Unloading cars from containers, have a valid car licence and be confident using power tools
- Operating a Reach Truck
