About the role:
As an Apprentice Stores Person, you will support the day‑to‑day activities of the Stores Department, assisting with the receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch of goods and materials. This is a development role, providing full on‑the‑job training and learning opportunities in stock control, materials handling, and stores processes, with the aim of building the skills and knowledge required for progression within the department. The role includes working 37 hours per week, including college attendance, and offers structured training under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with receiving deliveries, checking goods, and reporting discrepancies
- Support storage, organisation, and labelling of stock in the correct locations
- Issue parts and materials to production and other departments as required
- Support packing, labelling, and preparation of goods for dispatch
- Record stock movements accurately and assist with stock checks and cycle counts
- Follow health and safety procedures.
