Spider is advertising on behalf of our client who has an exciting opportunity to join their finance team as a Credit Controller on a permanent basis in their office in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role

As a Credit Controller, you will play a critical role in maintaining financial health. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely collection of outstanding invoices, maintaining positive cash flow, and minimising bad debt losses. You will engage directly with customers to resolve billing discrepancies while enforcing credit control procedures. Your analytical skills will be essential in assessing creditworthiness and negotiating payment plans, all while developing positive relationships. Working hours for this role are 35 per week, Monday to Friday.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Issue accurate statements and reminders to customers, ensuring timely communication regarding overdue payments.
  • Proactively engage with customers via phone and email to negotiate repayment plans and resolve disputes.
  • Implement and enforce credit control policies to enhance cash flow management and reduce bad debt.
  • Assess customer creditworthiness through analysis of financial statements and credit reports.
  • Maintain meticulous records of communications and payment statuses, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
