We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Machine Setter to join a well-established manufacturing business based in the outskirts of Ipswich in Needham Market, Suffolk.
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £14.95 per hour (circa £30,000 per annum when perm)
Days / Hours: 07:15am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 1 in 4 Rotational Friday 08:00 to 12:00 (paid additionally at basic hourly rate)

Key Duties:
- Set and prepare machinery to meet production schedules and start times
- Work hands‑on with engineering to complete efficient changeovers and setups
- Monitor and improve machine performance, output, and efficiency
- Ensure product quality standards are consistently achieved
- Troubleshoot faults and minimise downtime
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Maintain accurate production and setup documentation
- Communicate effectively with production and engineering teams
- Analyse outputs and optimise machine parameters
- Promote continuous improvement and health & safety compliance
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Machine Setter in a manufacturing/production environment
- Strong understanding of machine setups and changeovers
- Mechanical and process improvement knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Must hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle – this is essential
