Spider is advertising on behalf of our client who is seeking a Production Technician to join their Operations Team at their headquarters near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk in this full‑time, permanent role.

They design and manufacture innovative continuous flow chemistry and laboratory automation systems used worldwide in pharmaceutical, chemical, and academic research. Their products combine precision fluid handling, thermal control, sensors, and software to enable safer, more efficient chemical processes.

About the role
As a Production Technician you will be part of the Operations team reporting to the Operations Manager. The Production Technician will be responsible for in‑process inspection and assembly operations of the company’s in‑house manufactured laboratory equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Connect wiring harnesses, crimp/solder small connectors, and assemble mechanical components.
- Assemble small tubing and fittings while reviewing cell stock levels and quality.
- Support production technicians with fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Suggest improvements to product assembly and report slow processes or quality concerns.
- Manage workload effectively to achieve production targets.
About you
Minimum 2+ years’ production experience of mechanical assembly, able to read engineering drawings and work in a busy deadline‑driven environment. Organised, able to multi‑task, willing to learn, confident with Windows, Excel, and Word, and hold a minimum of 2 A levels or National Diploma / GNVQ Level 3. Desirable skills include technical knowledge of materials, and fault‑finding experience with electro‑mechanical assemblies. A full UK driving licence and access to vehicle is essential due to their location. Working hours are 40 hours per week, 9am‑5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Candidates must be eligible to and hold all relevant finalised paperwork to live and work in the UK.
