Spider is advertising on behalf of a growing specialist business delivering high-quality domestic annexe solutions for customers across the UK, who, due to company-wide growth, are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator – Domestic Annexe Installations Nationwide to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position based from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

About the role:

As a Painter & Decorator, you will be responsible for the internal and external painting and decorating of high-quality residential annexes, working as part of an experienced installation team. You will take pride in delivering exceptional finishes, from initial surface preparation through to final customer handover. Each annexe is pre-cut and manufactured in the company’s factory, with approximately one annexe installed each week by our existing installation teams. You will travel to domestic properties across the UK and complete decorating works to a consistently high standard. This is steady, long-term employment directly with the company – not agency or short-term contract work. The role involves regular working away from home, Monday to Friday, with accommodation provided.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete internal and external painting and decorating of residential annexes
  • Prepare surfaces through filling, sanding, making good and other preparation work
  • Apply primers, undercoats and finishing coats to achieve a high-quality finish
  • Complete final decorating and finishing works prior to customer handover
  • Maintain excellent standards of workmanship, cleanliness and housekeeping
  • Represent the company professionally and courteously when working at customer properties

About you:

As a Painter & Decorator, you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior painting and decorating, ideally within residential or high-end domestic environments. You will have exceptional decorating skills, a strong eye for detail and a proven ability to consistently deliver high-quality finishes at a good pace. You will be reliable, resilient and comfortable working away from home during the week, returning home at weekends if ever working away. Excellent customer-facing skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. A full UK driving licence is also required.
