We are a quality driven Indian Restaurant. Our menus are authentic South Asian regional specially Indian-Bangladeshi cuisine. These are special types of foods popular amongst the residents originating from the Indian sub-continent. They are also hugely popular to the native British peoples and other ethnic backgrounds. We ensure high standards of cooking and innovative presentation creating a great experience for our customers. We are open 7 days a week from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
We are looking for a Specialist Indian Curry and Tandoori Chef.
Positions: Specialist Indian Curry Chef and Tandoori Chef (x2).
Employer: Spice Tandoori
Location: Wick, Caithness, Highland, Scotland.
Salary: £31,000 to £39,000
Working hours / days: 35 to 37.50 hours within a 5 to 6 day week.
Benefits & Entitlements: 29 days paid holiday (pro rata), income boosting incentives, employer's workplace pension.
Prospects: Salary review; recognition and reward for outstanding performance.
Duties include:
- Preparation of complex Indian Curry and Tandoori dishes
- Preparing menu
- Training and supervising junior Chefs
- Purchasing & dealing with suppliers
- Stock control
- Quality checks
- Health & hygiene compliance and HACCP protocols
- Monitoring food safety & temperatures
- Maintaining cleanliness and good order within work areas
- Care and maintenance of specialist Indian Curry and Tandoori equipment
- Cost analysis and review
- Preparing reports and schedules
- Performing key duties as assigned
To qualify for selection you must have the following minimum requirements:
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK
- High level skills and mastery in preparation of authentic Curry and Tandoori dishes, seafood dishes, vegetarian dishes, breads and other specialties
- Previous experience in this role is essential
- Industry specific academic qualification will be considered as an added experience
- Minimum A-level or equivalent academic qualification
