We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to support a busy production environment where reliability, pace, and problem-solving really matter. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on keeping equipment running, reducing downtime, and supporting production teams through a mix of planned maintenance, fault-finding, and reactive repairs. You will be working with a wide range of machinery and systems, so no two shifts look the same.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine equipment checks
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and diagnosing faults under pressure
- Adjusting machines, completing size changes, and supporting line set-ups
- Maintaining and calibrating equipment to meet safety and quality standards
- Recording maintenance activity, PPMs, and shift reports accurately
- Working closely with operations to improve performance and reliability
- Getting involved in improvement or upgrade work where required
- Following health & safety procedures at all times
The Equipment You Will Work With
- Packaging and production machinery
- Conveyors, baggers, flow wrappers, and multi-heads
- Pneumatics, sensors, metal detection and check weighing systems
- Bespoke packing and labelling lines
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing, FMCG, or production
- Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, or equivalent)
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions on shift
- A proactive mindset with a strong work ethic
- Knowledge of wiring regulations or packaging equipment is a bonus, not a must
