They are a leading furniture importer/wholesaler in the UK that has grown to be one of the largest companies in the furniture sector. They have designed their services to help companies grow their product categories beyond their standard offering, with a worldwide manufacturing network. Purpose of the Business Analyst Role:
Our client is looking for a Business Analyst to support their wider business through data-driven insights and recommendations that will support senior management decision making. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on making data meaningful and impactful in a fast-paced and growing business. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role is a perfect fit for someone with energy and ambition who wants to develop their career and add value to the business.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Business Analyst Role:
- Lead Performance Reviews: Perform business analysis and reporting that identifies business opportunities and risks in order to make recommendations that add business value. This includes analysis of:
- Sales performance and market trends - working with Marketing and Sales teams. A significant area of focus will be price and margin analysis by product type and by product line.
- Level of stock holding and operational performance metrics - supporting Supply Chain and Warehouse teams.
- Transport times and costs - helping the Logistics team optimise transport routes and choices of couriers.
- Value Adding Projects: Work closely with teams across the business to address emerging business challenges by providing timely analysis and insights that aid senior management decision making.
- Power BI Reporting: Build, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualise business performance metrics in a user-friendly format (such as sales trends, product profitability and key stock metrics).
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and refine data processes and reporting mechanisms to drive efficiency and enhance the quality of insights provided.
Experience/knowledge requirements for the Business Analyst Role:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
- Strong Excel and Power BI skills.
- Analytical and Insight-Driven: You have a passion for data and can turn raw numbers into meaningful insights.
- Detail-Oriented Problem Solver: With a keen eye for detail, you enjoy dissecting complex problems and proposing innovative solutions that drive efficiency and results.
- A track record of consistently delivering to a high standard.
- Team Player: You work collaboratively with multiple teams, aligning efforts and ensuring that data-driven decisions enhance overall business performance.
