We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a high-specification £300k dental surgery fit-out in Cheshire. This is a hands-on role suited to a site manager who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck into installation works alongside managing the day-to-day running of the site. You'll be responsible for driving the programme forward, coordinating trades, maintaining quality and safety standards, and directly contributing to installation tasks when required — this is not a purely supervisory position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the site from initial strip-out through to practical completion, ensuring the project is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Get hands-on with installation works, including first and second fix, joinery, and general fit-out tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades on site.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations (CDM 2015), including toolbox talks, RAMS, and site inductions.
  • Maintain quality control in line with client and design specifications, particularly around clinical/dental-specific fit-out requirements.
  • Liaise with the client, design team, and project manager on progress, variations, and any site issues.
  • Manage site programme, deliveries, and logistics.
  • Keep accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress photos, and snagging lists.
  • Ensure the site remains clean, organised, and compliant throughout the works.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial fit-out projects, ideally within healthcare, dental, or medical environments.
  • Strong hands-on trade background (carpentry, joinery, general building) with a willingness to actively support installation works.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification (essential).
  • CSCS Card (Black/Gold preferred).
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience managing projects of a similar value (£250k–£350k) desirable.
