Job Summary Sphere Solutions are looking for a CPCS Gantry Crane Operative for our clients construction site in Salford. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations, adherence to safety standards, and timely delivery of materials essential for project success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical knowledge and crane operation skills make a tangible impact. Responsibilities * Operate CPCS-certified gantry cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads with precision and safety. * Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane, including checking mechanical systems, safety devices, and load capacities. * Coordinate with site managers and other team members to ensure seamless material handling and transportation workflows. * Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to crane operation, materials handling, and construction site procedures. * Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by loading and unloading materials from trucks or containers as needed. * Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, load details, and safety inspections for compliance purposes. * Support warehouse activities by handling materials efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required. Skills * Strong mechanical knowledge related to crane systems, forklifts, excavators, and general construction equipment. * Proven experience operating gantry cranes in construction or warehouse environments. * Valid CPCS certification. A64 operating a Gantry Crane. * Ability to work safely in a busy construction setting while maintaining attention to detail. * Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site personnel. * Prior experience in construction projects or warehouse environments is highly desirable
