About the Role
Sphere Solutions are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a multi-million-pound flagship project in Plymouth. The main function for this role will be Subcontract Procurement, on a high-profile scheme, providing commercial support across both civils and build elements of the project.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience within civils, sound knowledge of NEC4 Option contracts, and exposure to construction build projects. Senior Quantity Surveyors with a strong subcontract procurement background are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure and manage subcontract packages across civils and build works
- Work closely with commercial and project delivery teams to ensure cost-effective procurement strategies
- Lead subcontractor negotiations in line with NEC4 Option contracts
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain
- Provide commercial support throughout the subcontract lifecycle, including variations and final accounts
- Support accurate cost forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to senior management
About You
- Proven experience in subcontract procurement within the construction or civil engineering sector
- Strong working knowledge of NEC4 Option contracts
- Background as a Subcontract Buyer or Quantity Surveyor with procurement responsibility
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and commercial management skills
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment across site, office, and home
