As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and economic management of the site — ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance. You will coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet contractual requirements, and lead the delivery of a high-value, defect-free project.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a culture of health, safety, quality, and environmental excellence across the site.
- Ensure efficient selection and management of subcontractors and suppliers in collaboration with commercial and buying teams.
- Protect the company's commercial and contractual interests through proper documentation and communication.
- Work collaboratively with other departments (Surveying, Design, Planning, HR, HSE) to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure no works commence without approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Task Safety Plans, and actively monitor their execution.
- Maintain detailed and accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure projects are delivered defect-free and with full client satisfaction.
- Conduct post-completion reviews to analyse performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with a main contractor or large regional, with a track record of delivery schemes in excess of £10 million.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and H&S legislation.
- Excellent cost control and financial management abilities.
- NEC or JCT experience is preferred.
