We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading residential developer, based on sites in and around the Plymouth area. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of cost management across new build residential developments, ensuring value for money, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a varied role where you’ll be involved in procurement, subcontract management, monthly valuations, cost reporting, and final accounts, all while driving margin improvement and supporting the successful delivery of housing schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all costs relating to residential projects from procurement through to final account.
- Minimise costs and maximise value, whilst meeting required standards and specifications.
- Oversee subcontractor management, contract administration, and monthly payments.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and valuations in line with project progress.
- Work closely with project teams to monitor budgets, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and best practices.
About You
- HNC/HND in Surveying (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential or contracting sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Commercially astute with good negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
- Confident with budget management and reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office (experience with COINS is advantageous).
- Full UK driving licence (site travel required).
