An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a large-scale industrial operation in Plymouth. This is a strategic leadership role where you'll be responsible for developing and driving the Health & Safety agenda across a complex, high-risk environment. You'll lead the implementation of robust management systems, promote a proactive safety culture, and support continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Health & Safety strategy and systems.
- Maintain and improve ISO 45001 management systems.
- Manage audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations.
- Provide expert guidance on UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Support operational teams with contractor management and safe systems of work.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Health & Safety team.
- Drive a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
About You
- Proven experience in a Senior Health & Safety role within heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, engineering, or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience implementing and managing ISO-certified systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent essential; CMIOSH or working towards desirable.
