Our client currently serves the water, environmental and energy sectors. They connect over 16m customers with essential water, energy and transport services across the regions in which we operate. They are looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable Environmental Advisor to join their team. About the Role
As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in managing environmental risk across the full lifecycle of our projects. You will provide technical support to project teams, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, company policies, and industry standards. Working across infrastructure, water, and energy projects, you will help drive best practice, support sustainable delivery, and contribute to achieving our environmental and Net Zero ambitions.

What skills & experience do we require?
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Ecology, or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Environmental Advisor or similar role
- Experience within infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, or construction sectors
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- CSCS Black Card or Professionally Qualified Card (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
- Experience building relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure environmental policies and procedures are implemented across all project stages
- Monitor environmental performance through site inspections and audits
- Provide technical advice on environmental risks, mitigation, and best practice
- Support project teams in measuring and reducing carbon emissions
- Develop and manage environmental documentation, including Construction Environmental Management Plans
- Manage environmental permits, licences, and consents
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and waste regulations
- Deliver environmental briefings and support site teams
- Support internal and external audits, including ISO 14001 compliance
- Liaise with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and environmental performance reporting
