Sphere Solutions is partnering with a leading Tier 1 M&E contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a major new-build project on the Isle of Wight. This project is within a secure custodial environment, so security clearance will be required. Candidates who already hold valid clearance will be at a clear advantage, though support may be available for the right individual.
The Role
You’ll take full ownership of the electrical package, leading delivery from site setup through to commissioning and final handover. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong commercial awareness, leadership capability, and the confidence to manage complex building services installations on high-value schemes. Projects are typically commercial or public sector in nature, with values up to £20m, and you’ll be expected to demonstrate full contract management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the operational project team to achieve programme, cost, safety, and quality targets
- Take overall responsibility for the electrical/building services installation
- Deliver a high-quality installation that meets client expectations while maximising profitability
- Maintain full control of project budgets, costs, and forecasts
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications
- Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations across the team
- Champion health & safety standards, ensuring risks are proactively identified and controlled
- Drive best practice, continuous improvement, and innovation across the project
- Manage commissioning activities and deliver a smooth, professional final handover
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical or Building Services Project Manager
- Track record delivering commercial or similar projects up to £20m
- Demonstrable experience managing full contracts at project level
- HNC/HND (or higher) in Building Services or a related discipline – desirable
- Valid CSCS and SMSTS certification
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk management
- A motivated, decisive leader who sets high standards and brings the best out of their team
