Sphere Solutions are working with a rapidly expanding electrical contractor specializing in the industrial sector, and we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Approved Electrician to join our dedicated team. Based in Leeds, this role offers the exciting opportunity to work on diverse industrial projects across the UK, with all travel subsidised. This is a fantastic chance to become an integral part of their success, with the potential for a permanent position. They are also committed to your professional development and will actively support you in achieving NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor (QS) certification.

The Role:

  • Performing a wide range of electrical tasks including installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs in challenging industrial environments.
  • Carrying out comprehensive electrical inspection, testing, and certification of new and existing installations in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  • Producing accurate Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
  • Ensuring all work strictly adheres to health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Reading and interpreting complex electrical schematic diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Providing expert technical support and advice as required.
  • Maintaining meticulous records of all work performed, materials used, and timesheets.
  • Collaborating effectively with project teams, clients, and other contractors on site.
  • Upholding the highest standards of workmanship and attention to detail at all times.

What We're Looking For:

  • ECS/JIB Approved Electrician Card
  • Inspection & Testing Qualification: City & Guilds 2391-52 in Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations is essential.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations: Full understanding and current certification in BS 7671.
  • Industrial Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in electrical installations and testing within industrial or process plant environments.
  • Condition Reporting: Demonstrable experience with electrical condition reporting.
  • Full UK Driving License: Essential due to the frequent travel requirements.
  • Strong Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and industry best practices.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Autonomy & Teamwork: Capable of working independently and as a valued member of a team.
  • Organisation & Attention to Detail: Highly organised with a meticulous approach to work and documentation.
  • Safety Conscious: A proactive approach to health and safety in all aspects of your work.

  • Previous experience working towards or in a role similar to a NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor.
