We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major geotechnical renewal and infrastructure scheme in the Bristol area. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering complex infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK.
The project involves major earthworks, geotechnical stabilisation, infrastructure renewals, and associated civils packages within a technically demanding live environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing engineering delivery across site operations.
As Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for all engineering coordination and technical delivery across the project. This is a site-based role requiring a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and previous experience progressing through Tier 1 contractor environments.
You will manage junior engineers, coordinate technical documentation, oversee setting out activities, and maintain strong communication with both client and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle. There will be some office-based work in Bristol alongside occasional flexibility for home working where project requirements allow. The role may involve occasional weekend and night works, including a planned 24/7 possession period between July and August 2026.
Key Responsibilities- Managing all engineering delivery across the project
- Producing and managing material approvals, ITPs, and technical documentation
- Compiling WPPs, RAMS, and construction records
- Managing red-line drawings and as-built information
- Coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams
- Leading and supporting junior engineering staff
- Carrying out setting out duties where required using GPS and Total Station equipment
- Supporting programme delivery and engineering problem-solving on site
- Maintaining quality assurance and compliance standards throughout the project
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Previous Tier 1 contractor experience essential
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience managing engineering delivery on large infrastructure schemes
- Strong technical understanding of geotechnical, civils, or infrastructure works
- Ability to work within demanding operational environments and shift patterns
- HND / BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering
- ICE membership or working toward professional accreditation
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
