This is a unique opportunity for a commercially aware and hands-on construction professional who enjoys variety and thrives in an environment where no two days are the same.

The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with the Directors and wider business to support ongoing growth and development.

The Role

  • Lead pre-construction activities, including cost planning, estimating, budgeting, and project feasibility reviews for new developments, typically within the commercial and agricultural sectors.
  • Manage Design & Build projects from concept through to completion, ensuring successful delivery in terms of programme, quality, and cost.
  • Oversee construction supervisors and in-house trades, including electricians, fabricators, and site operatives.
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors and specialist subcontractors.
  • Oversee refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement works across the company’s buildings, including reactive requirements where needed.
  • Take commercial responsibility for projects, including cost reviews, valuations, invoicing, and quantity surveying elements.
  • Support procurement and purchasing activities.
  • Provide construction expertise and support to the Directors on a variety of projects and business initiatives.

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, or Project Manager role, with the ability to manage projects from inception through to completion.
  • Experience within agricultural, industrial, commercial, or similar building sectors would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Design & Build delivery.
  • Commercially minded with experience in estimating, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Strong operational background with practical site and project management experience.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Cultural fit is just as important as technical capability.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a varied environment, can take ownership, and is comfortable working closely with senior leadership to influence and deliver construction solutions.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will also work closely with the wider Board of Directors, contributing construction expertise to future projects, improvements, and business growth.

The company is offering a salary of up to £85,000, along with a company vehicle, private medical insurance, death in service benefit, pension, and a range of additional company benefits.
