When a building has a problem, people need someone who can work out what's wrong and put it right, without fuss. That's what this role is about. You'll be the engineer who steps in, finds the fault, and keeps busy commercial buildings running the way their occupants expect. We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established national facilities management provider, looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their building services team in central London. This is a resilience role, so you won't be tied to one building. You'll travel between commercial properties across Zones 1 and 2, supporting sites where an extra pair of skilled hands is needed most. It's a varied job for an engineer who likes a new challenge each day. THE ROLE - Carrying out day-to-day servicing of electrical infrastructure, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment - Delivering planned preventative maintenance and responding to faults within agreed service levels - Fault finding, making plant adjustments, and inspecting electrical services, plant and systems to the contract specification - Working safely at all times, following safe systems of work, and helping to induct sub-contractors so they can get to work safely - Handling reactive and additional works to the right engineering standards - Writing up technical incident reports when needed and keeping daily worksheets and maintenance records accurate and up to date - Stepping in to support or cover for your supervisor when required WHO WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM - A solid technical background, either mechanically or electrically qualified, with strong experience in building services engineering - A good understanding of statutory compliance, including HVAC and water treatment - IOSH Working Safely or a similar health and safety qualification - Experience in a customer-facing role - Comfortable working on your own and as part of a team - Clear communicator, both spoken and written - A logical, evidence-based approach to problem solving - Organised, adaptable, and happy to work across different sites WHAT'S ON OFFER - Salary of circa £45,000 per annum - Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week (8 hours a day) - 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays - Company pension, with 5% employee and 4% employer contributions - Overtime paid at enhanced rates: time and a half outside normal hours Monday to Friday and up to 12.30pm on Saturday, then double time from 1pm on Saturday and all day Sunday - A varied role across prestigious central London buildings with a respected national employer If you're an engineer who enjoys variety and a role where your skills are put to good use, send me your up-to-date CV and I'll give you a call for a confidential chat about the position
