We’re seeking an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems and a solid understanding of Civils interface for a landmark project in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a world-class, multi-million-pound research facility shaping the future of science and healthcare.

Project Overview:

  • £700m state-of-the-art cancer research and wellness facility
  • Located in Oxford, adjacent to the Oxford Science Park
  • 30,000 sqm across two sites connected via a stunning woodland walkway
  • Designed by world-renowned architect Norman Foster
  • Focused on cutting-edge research in cancer, disease prevention, and global health policy

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate M&E design processes on site
  • Manage interfaces between M&E and civil packages
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and client representatives
  • Ensure design is developed and delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality standards
  • Identify risks and proactively develop solutions to overcome technical issues

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a Design Manager role on large-scale, complex construction projects
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems and civil engineering interfaces
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Comfortable working within a high-performance team on a fast-paced project
  • Available to work on a freelance or PAYE basis immediately
