The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced freelance Site Agent to oversee STW drainage works across projects in Coventry and Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering essential utilities and drainage improvement works. The business specialises in water, utilities, highways, heavy civils, and infrastructure projects across the UK, with a strong reputation for delivering technically complex schemes safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations across drainage and infrastructure works associated with sewage treatment facilities and related utility packages. You will oversee operational delivery, subcontractor coordination, programme management, and health & safety compliance while ensuring all works are completed in line with project requirements and client expectations. This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong civils and drainage experience who is comfortable managing multiple work fronts within live infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day delivery of STW drainage and civils works
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, labour, and plant
- Ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and within budget
- Monitoring progress and resolving operational issues on site
- Managing health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Producing and maintaining site documentation including RAMS and progress reports
- Liaising with clients, engineers, and operational stakeholders
- Supporting programme delivery and resource planning
- Ensuring all drainage and civils works are delivered to specification and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent within water, drainage, utilities, or heavy civils projects
- Strong understanding of STW infrastructure and drainage operations
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams within live operational environments
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
