We are working with a well-established, family-run housebuilder to recruit a Commercial Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team based in Central Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure across the full commercial function.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Estimators and Buyers, you will be involved in procurement, estimating and quantity surveying, making this an ideal role for someone who wants to develop into a Quantity Surveyor in the future.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the commercial team with the delivery of multiple new build housing developments
- Support procurement activities, obtaining quotations and placing purchase orders
- Assist with material scheduling and supplier liaison
- Provide support to the Quantity Surveyors with valuations, variations and cost reporting
- Assist the Estimating team with tender enquiries, take-offs and pricing exercises
- Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate commercial records using COINS (preferred)
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, spreadsheets and reports
- Liaise with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects remain on programme
