A well-established regional construction contractor is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join their team, based out of Portsmouth and overseeing projects across the South Coast.

This role will involve the simultaneous management of 2–3 live projects, with individual project values up to £7m, delivering works across the commercial, industrial, education, and retirement living sectors.

As Contract Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned projects from pre-construction through to handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing 2–3 concurrent projects across the South Coast region
  • Overall responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and H&S performance
  • Leading and supporting Project Managers and site teams
  • Managing client relationships and acting as the key point of contact
  • Overseeing subcontractor procurement, performance, and compliance
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring commercial performance and supporting cost control
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks while driving value and efficiency

About You

You will be an experienced construction professional with a strong track record of managing multiple projects.

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager or Senior Project Manager
  • Background delivering commercial, industrial, education, or residential/retirement projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts and site delivery
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Construction-related qualification
  • SMSTS and CSCS (Manager level)
  • Experience managing projects up to £7m in value
