An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a landmark £100m education construction project in South Wales. This is a career-defining role for a proven senior construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale, complex building projects from pre-construction through to successful completion.

As Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the strategic leadership, operational delivery, commercial performance and client relationship management of a flagship education development. You will lead a substantial project team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, programme and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for a major £100m education construction project.
  • Manage and mentor a large multidisciplinary project team, including Project Managers, Site Managers and specialist delivery teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, consultants, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Drive programme performance, ensuring key milestones and project objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain rigorous control of project budgets, commercial performance and risk management.
  • Champion health, safety, environmental and quality standards across the project.
  • Develop strong relationships with local stakeholders, education sector representatives and delivery partners.
  • Lead project reporting and governance processes at senior management level.
  • Ensure successful project delivery in line with contractual obligations and business objectives.
About You

To be considered, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience operating at Project Director or Senior Project Manager level within the construction industry.
  • A successful track record delivering major building projects valued in excess of £50m.
  • Experience within the education, public sector, healthcare, commercial or large-scale mixed-use sectors.
  • Exceptional client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management expertise.
  • Proven leadership capability managing large project teams and complex supply chains.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant construction qualification (Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent).
