A leading Tier 1 main contractor is expanding one of its specialist divisions and is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of refurbishment, fit-out and reconfiguration projects across the UK. The role is based out of the Birmingham office and will involve regular nationwide travel to live sites.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day site delivery on fast-paced commercial and refurbishment schemes, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality execution. This includes managing subcontractors, maintaining programme performance, overseeing logistics and ensuring strong client communication throughout.
Typical projects include:
- Commercial refurbishments and upgrades
- Fit-out and reconfiguration works
- Live-environment schemes
- Framework and repeat-client projects across the UK
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site operations to ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery
- Manage subcontractors, sequencing, logistics and daily coordination
- Maintain programme performance and support short-term planning
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and H&S legislation
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain
- Oversee QA, snagging and handover processes
- Promote a positive, collaborative site culture
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within main contracting
- Strong background in refurbishment, fit-out or commercial projects
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable with regular UK-wide travel
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (or working towards)
- Proactive, solutions-focused and detail-driven
