We are recruiting for an experienced freelance Site Agent to oversee a programme of Environment Agency works across multiple sites between Birmingham and Evesham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering key environmental and infrastructure improvement schemes. The business operates across utilities, water, highways, flood defence, heavy civils, and infrastructure sectors, with a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will take responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations across a number of Environment Agency projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. The role will involve coordinating operational teams, subcontractors, plant, and materials while maintaining strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and site personnel across multiple live work locations. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong leadership, programme management, and health & safety awareness within civils and infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day operational delivery across multiple Environment Agency schemes
- Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant, and site activities
- Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme requirements
- Monitoring project progress and resolving operational issues
- Maintaining health, safety, environmental, and quality standards on site
- Producing site documentation including RAMS, reports, and records
- Liaising with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Managing temporary works, permits, and construction methodologies
- Supporting commercial awareness and resource management throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent within civils, utilities, flood defence, water, or infrastructure projects
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and workstreams simultaneously
- Good understanding of health & safety and construction delivery processes
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
