We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor based in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of high-profile projects, leading commercial activities on large schemes across the South West region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management of large or multiple projects
  • Prepare tenders, detailed cost plans, and procurement strategies
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments (including CIS), and final accounts
  • Produce accurate monthly cost and value reports
  • Procure major works subcontract packages
  • Successfully manage and complete final accounts
  • Undertake value engineering exercises to maximise project value
  • Provide support in resolving commercial disputes and claims, with a sound understanding of dispute procedures
  • Oversee project budgets, identify risks and opportunities, and drive profitability
  • Collaborate closely with project management, client teams, and supply chain to ensure successful delivery

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large construction schemes
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed monthly cost/value reports and forecasts
  • Extensive experience of successfully completing final accounts
  • Solid knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Experience of procuring and managing major subcontract packages
  • Aware of and understand commercial dispute resolution
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, or working towards professional accreditation
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and commercial management skills
