We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor; you will join an experienced Commercial team and ensure the smooth commercial running of a large construction scheme. Time will be split between site and the regional office, suitable candidates will live in or around the Taunton region.
My client is looking for someone with a strong construction background, ideally someone that has worked for a Tier 1 contractor recently, experience working on large projects in excess of £40m would be preferred.
The role:
- Vet, appoint and negotiate subcontract packages for projects
- Pre-contract pricing and agreement project costs, submission of cash flow forecasts
- Prepare and agree CVR’S / interim valuations and agree final accounts
- Managing financial accounts and report to Senior Management on the project performance
- Monitor progress, secure payments, if necessary, issues formal notices / contractual claims
- Attend project support meetings
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, although other equivalent qualifications may be accepted such as HNC/HND if backed up with extensive work experience.
- Good knowledge of measurement and valuations and standard forms of contract.
- Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors
- Experience of value engineering
- Exposure to resolving disputes
- Good negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
Package:
- £65,000-£70,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Car Allowance of £6,000
- 26 days annual leave and bank holidays
- Pension, employer to contribute up to 8%
- Private medical insurance
