We are seeking a motivated and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the effective management of project costs across a range of earthworks and civil engineering contracts. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the UKβs most significant earthmoving and infrastructure schemes with a forward-thinking, family-run business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the commercial and financial aspects of multiple live projects.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports.
- Monitor project budgets and forecast costs to completion.
- Measure and value works in progress and variations.
- Liaise closely with project managers, estimators, and site teams.
- Support procurement of subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Analyse subcontractor quotations and agreements.
- Ensure contractual compliance and manage claims/disputes where necessary.
- Support business reporting including monthly CVRs and P&Ls.
- Build strong client relationships and represent the company at commercial meetings.
Requirements
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, earthworks, or plant hire sectors.
- Understanding of NEC3/NEC4 and/or bespoke contract forms.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other cost reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to visit project sites.
