An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Site Engineer to join a project team delivering a large-scale infrastructure scheme in Oxfordshire. Working closely with senior engineering and site management staff, you will play a key role in ensuring technical accuracy, efficient coordination, and high-quality delivery across the project.
This position would suit an individual with solid experience in site engineering and setting out, particularly within civil engineering environments, who enjoys working collaboratively and communicating across multiple teams.
Key Duties- Carry out setting out and surveying activities on site
- Check drawings, specifications, and quantities for accuracy
- Coordinate materials and liaise with supply teams
- Assist in planning daily site activities to meet programme targets
- Work alongside subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Oversee site operations and monitor subcontractor performance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate quality and technical records
- Support testing procedures and equipment calibration
- Keep detailed site documentation and records
- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide general support to site leadership as required
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a Site Engineer role within construction
- Strong knowledge of setting out and surveying techniques
- Clear communication and organisational skills
- Background in infrastructure projects such as highways or rail
- Familiarity with digital surveying tools and design software
- Understanding of construction materials and quality testing
- Awareness of planning, procurement, and project coordination processes
- Relevant site safety certification (e.g. CSCS or equivalent)
- Health & Safety training/induction
- First Aid qualification (preferred)
- Strong communicator, able to engage effectively with different audiences
