A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major new advanced‑manufacturing facility in the South West. This is a flagship UK programme with long‑term pipeline, offering the chance to work on one of the most significant industrial developments in the country.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of mechanical, electrical and public health packages across a large, multi‑phase construction programme. Working closely with project, engineering and client teams, you’ll ensure robust cost control, accurate forecasting and effective supply‑chain performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Managing MEP packages from procurement through to final account
- Preparing valuations, variations, cost plans and commercial reports
- Supporting tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations
- Managing change control and identifying commercial risks/opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms and internal governance
- Working collaboratively with design, engineering and delivery teams
- Supporting programme‑wide commercial strategy and reporting
About You
- Experience as an MEP QS or Building Services QS within a Tier 1 contractor, consultancy or major project environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages on complex or large‑scale schemes
- Confident managing procurement, forecasting, cost control and change management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Comfortable working in a high‑governance, fast‑paced environment
- Degree‑qualified or equivalent, with RICS membership beneficial
