A well-established construction and refurbishment contractor is looking to appoint an experienced HSE Advisor to support its growing portfolio of planned, reactive, and refurbishment works across Somerset and parts of Devon. The business delivers a wide range of projects including healthcare frameworks, drainage works and planned and reactive contracts across commercial and industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional seeking a varied role with a strong mix of office and site-based responsibilities.

The Role

Reporting into the senior management team, the HSE Advisor will take ownership of health, safety, and compliance across multiple live projects. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
  • Preparing Construction Phase Plans (CPPs)
  • Supporting Temporary Works procedures and compliance
  • Carrying out site audits and inspections
  • Ensuring compliance with current HSE legislation and company procedures
  • Working closely with operational teams across refurbishment and maintenance projects
  • Supporting continuous improvement of health & safety standards across the business

Requirements

  • Previous experience within construction health & safety
  • Strong understanding of refurbishment and maintenance environments
  • Experience producing RAMS and CPP documentation
  • Knowledge of Temporary Works processes
  • NEBOSH qualification is a must
  • Confident carrying out site inspections and engaging with operational teams
  • Full UK driving licence
