The Role

As a Financial Services Project Manager, you will lead or support the delivery of complex business, operational and technology transformation programmes. Assignments will cover finance transformation, operational excellence, digital transformation, customer experience, process improvement and wider business change. You will help organisations use technology, data and process innovation to improve customer outcomes, increase operational efficiency and support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex projects through the full lifecycle, from initial scoping and planning through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Develop project plans, governance structures, delivery milestones, roles and responsibilities, and communication strategies.
  • Lead or support digital transformation initiatives involving new technologies, automation solutions and digital platforms.
  • Deliver customer experience improvement programmes, including end-to-end customer journey redesign and identification of operational pain points.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality project documentation, including project initiation documents, governance reports, status updates, RAID logs and delivery plans.
  • Facilitate workshops to establish project scope, define business requirements and agree desired outcomes.
  • Engage confidently with C-suite executives, senior management and stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Support senior leadership with programme oversight, informed decision-making and the resolution of delivery risks and issues.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches across digital transformation, customer experience and operational improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong project or programme management experience within financial services.
  • Experience working in retail banking, commercial banking, asset management or insurance.
  • A successful track record of delivering projects across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience of digital transformation, business change, process improvement or customer experience programmes.
  • Strong project governance, control and documentation skills.
  • Experience communicating with senior management and C-suite stakeholders.
  • A recognised project management qualification or demonstrable knowledge of established project delivery methodologies.
  • Practical experience using Waterfall, Agile or blended delivery approaches.
