An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified Solicitor (including 2026 qualified) to join the growing, busy Licensing team of our client, a highly regarded commercial law firm in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within a specialist area while working alongside experienced practitioners on a varied and high-quality caseload. The Role

  • You'll become part of a busy and supportive Licensing team, working with clients across the hospitality and leisure sector throughout Northern Ireland.
  • Your work will include:
    • Advising on a broad range of licensing matters.
    • Supporting clients with commercial contracts, corporate acquisitions and property leases.
    • Representing clients in licensing-related advocacy and court proceedings.
    • Building strong client relationships by taking a practical, solutions-focused approach and gaining a genuine understanding of their businesses.
  • No two days will be the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, client interaction and developing specialist expertise.

About You

  • Applications are welcomed from newly qualified Solicitors or those due to qualify shortly who can demonstrate:
    • A solid grounding in general commercial law.
    • A genuine interest in developing a career in licensing law and related advocacy.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • A commercial mindset with a client-focused approach.
    • A willingness to learn and develop within a supportive team environment.
  • Previous licensing experience isn't essential, as full training and ongoing development will be provided.
