An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled finance lawyer with a strong background in derivatives to join a dynamic and forward-thinking legal team. Our client, a prestigious international law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Solicitor to become part of their ever-evolving team in Belfast.
About the Role
Our clients Finance team is at the forefront of cutting-edge financial legal services, engaging in high-profile derivatives and structured finance transactions. As part of this team, you will play a key role in delivering cost-effective, high-quality legal services for major financial institutions, funds, and corporate clients. From assisting with hedging aspects of loan-linked and securitisation-linked matters to managing large-scale derivatives outsourcing projects, this role offers diverse and exciting challenges.
What You'll Be Doing
- Advising on complex and multi-jurisdictional derivatives transactions.
- Negotiating ISDAs, GMRAs, GMSLAs, and other trading documentation.
- Assisting with regulatory projects, including Initial Margin requirements.
- Acting as a direct point of contact for clients and strengthening key relationships.
- Managing, supervising, and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Digital Finance practice.
- Collaborating with teams across London and other international offices.
- Enhancing legal service delivery through innovative legal technology tools.
What We're Looking For
- A qualified solicitor in England and Wales or Northern Ireland (or willing to requalify if required).
- At least three years PQE in derivatives and structured finance.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Experience working at mid-associate level within a finance practice.
- A proactive mindset with a keen interest in legal technology and innovation.
- Strong people management and business development skills.
- A commercial approach with an understanding of law firm profitability and financial efficiency.
