Our client is seeking an experienced Lawyer to join their established legal team based in central Belfast. This is a pivotal role, supporting the General Counsel along with the Executive Leadership Team. You'll act as a trusted advisor across a broad range of legal matters, offering pragmatic, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders and guiding the business through an evolving legal and regulatory landscape.

Youll be working on everything from complex commercial contracts, commercial lease, estates and property related matters, risk and regulatory advisory work and procurement (advising and challenges). Needless to say, the work is varied (but supported by a great team), intellectually stimulating, and always meaningful.

What youll be doing:

  • Providing timely, high-quality legal advice across the organisation, with a focus on strategic projects and operational support.
  • Advising on and managing complex legal matters, including high-profile disputes and cross-jurisdictional transactions.
  • Playing a central role in capital project teams, guiding bespoke and high-value initiatives from a legal perspective.
  • Supporting and enhancing corporate governance frameworks, including CEO assurances, policy development, and statutory filings.
  • Building strong internal relationships, particularly with senior leadership, to influence decision-making and promote legal risk awareness.
  • Managing relationships with external counsel, balancing quality and cost-effectiveness, particularly in relation to complex project work.

What were looking for:

  • A qualified solicitor with at least 5 years post-qualification experience, eligible for (or currently holding) a Northern Ireland practising certificate.
  • A confident, commercially aware legal professional with a minimum of two years experience advising complex organisationsyou may currently be doing this within an in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience in delivering strategic legal input on high-value commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills, particularly with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • A strong sense of discretion and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with integrity.
