Team Lead - Data & Engineering - London (Hybrid)
Team Lead wanted for a fast-growing technology business building large-scale data and software solutions for the global advertising and media industry.
A rapidly scaling AdTech business is looking for an experienced Team Lead to join its engineering function and help build the infrastructure behind its data and audience products. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, combining software engineering, architecture and people management.
You will work on complex data-intensive systems that need to be highly scalable, reliable and privacy-conscious, while collaborating closely with Product, Data and Commercial teams to turn business requirements into robust technical solutions.
The role is based in Copenhagen with a hybrid working setup.
The role:
- Lead and manage an engineering team while remaining hands‑on with the design and development of scalable backend systems and data pipelines
- Own key technical components, driving reliability, performance, maintainability and long‑term scalability across the platform
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction, balancing immediate delivery with future product requirements
- Work closely with Product and Data teams to develop data activation and targeting capabilities while improving data quality and system efficiency
- Drive engineering best practices across code quality, testing, observability and deployment, while mentoring and developing engineers within the team
You:
- Have 4-6+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in data-intensive or distributed systems
- Have experience leading and managing engineering teams, including remote or international team members
- Have strong experience with technologies such as Scala, Spark, JavaScript/TypeScript and AWS
- Have a solid understanding of backend architecture, data processing and cloud infrastructure, with the ability to take ownership from design through to production
- Are a strong technical communicator who enjoys solving complex problems, making decisions and collaborating across Product, Data and Commercial teams
