My Client is seeking an experienced Freelance Design Manager to join their team, working across a range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional to take ownership of the design process from early-stage concept through to construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Pre-Construction Services Agreements (PCSA) including contractor tendering, analysis, and presentation to the commercial team.
- Manage design progression from RIBA Stage 1 through Stage 4, ensuring successful planning approvals and compliance with:
- Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements
- Building Control standards
- Oversee the preparation and coordination of design documentation, including prescribed documents and subcontractor tender enquiries.
- Coordinate and manage the on-site design process during RIBA Stages 4 and 5 (Technical Design & Construction) in line with company design management procedures.
- Take responsibility for building services design coordination where a Building Services Manager is not available.
- Ensure that all design outputs meet project programme, quality, and compliance requirements.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Design Manager role within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of RIBA stages, particularly Stages 1–5
- Experience managing PCSA processes and contractor procurement
