We are looking for a commercially astute Account Director / Senior Account Manager who can turn strategic insight into measurable client growth. This role goes beyond relationship management – it’s about identifying opportunity, building credibility, and driving revenue expansion across a client portfolio. You’ll act as a trusted strategic partner to clients, combining a strong understanding of the digital landscape with commercial acumen to help solve real business challenges. You’ll confidently spot cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across digital disciplines, clearly articulating value to business owners, Marketing Directors, and senior channel stakeholders. Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll work with larger, high‑value clients to deliver innovative, integrated strategies that achieve performance KPIs while growing long‑term investment.
Client Growth & Commercial Excellence
- Own senior stakeholder relationships with top‑tier clients, becoming their trusted advisor and first point of contact for commercial and strategic challenges.
- Identify, position, and close upsell and cross‑sell opportunities by deeply understanding client KPIs, objectives, and market context.
- Deliver against revenue growth targets, consistently meeting or exceeding commission‑based objectives.
- Build relationships beyond day‑to‑day delivery by networking with clients at industry events and informal settings to uncover new opportunities.
- Know when to bring in specialists – you don’t need to be an expert in every channel, but you understand when SEO, PR, Paid, or Social expertise will unlock growth.
Strategic Leadership
- Lead quarterly business reviews and strategy refreshes that clearly demonstrate ROI, identify gaps, and present future‑facing opportunities.
- Create bespoke, integrated digital strategies spanning Social, SEO and PR ensuring they are commercially viable and aligned to business outcomes.
- Present confidently to C‑suite stakeholders, translating technical delivery into clear business impact and securing buy‑in for ambitious plans.
- Anticipate challenges before they arise, proactively evolving strategies in response to performance shifts or market change.
- Lead new business pitches and proposals, developing compelling strategies that showcase integrated, cross‑channel thinking.
Client Partnership & Delivery Excellence
- Ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across accounts – on time, on budget, and to a standard that builds long‑term trust.
- Maintain clear reporting against agreed KPIs, communicating risk early and implementing mitigation plans when required.
- Act as escalation lead for complex client issues, resolving challenges while protecting relationships.
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Strategists, and channel specialists to ensure a seamless and joined‑up client experience.
Thought Leadership & Team Development
- Champion integrated thinking across SEO, PR, and Social, embedding cross‑channel best practice into all client work.
- Share knowledge internally, supporting team development through training, mentorship, and strategic guidance.
- Help build scalable processes that support the management of complex, multi‑channel clients as the agency grows.
What You’ll Need
Essential Experience
- 3+ years in a client‑facing role within a digital marketing agency, managing senior stakeholder relationships.
- Strong strategic understanding of SEO, PR, and Social – you don’t need to be a channel specialist, but you understand how these disciplines work together to drive results.
- Proven commercial track record growing accounts through upselling and cross‑selling, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Confident presenting to C‑suite stakeholders, including CEOs, CMOs, and Marketing Directors.
- Experience managing accounts with monthly spends of £10k+, with an understanding of the service expectations at this level.
