Senior Backend Software Engineer | Platform & Identity

We're partnered with a fast-growing AI company building a highly secure Generative AI platform for the financial services sector. Their technology is helping organisations adopt AI safely, securely and at enterprise scale.
They're now looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the team responsible for identity, access management and platform security capabilities that sit at the core of the product.
This role focuses on building the systems that determine who can access what, how permissions are managed and how user lifecycle events are handled across a complex multi-tenant SaaS platform.
You'll play a key role in building secure, scalable infrastructure that enterprise customers rely on every day.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and developing backend services using TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS
- Building and enhancing user management, permissions and authorization systems
- Working on identity integrations, SSO and enterprise provisioning capabilities
- Developing event-driven services and asynchronous workflows
- Designing scalable APIs and backend architectures for enterprise environments
- Improving platform observability, reliability and operational excellence
- Contributing to technical direction, architecture decisions and mentoring teammates
What we're looking for
- Strong commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with NestJS or similar backend frameworks
- Strong backend engineering and system design capabilities
- Experience building SaaS products and multi-tenant platforms
- Exposure to authorization, identity or user management systems
- Understanding of concepts such as SSO, RBAC, SCIM, provisioning or enterprise security
- Experience working with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
