This role will be responsible for optimising stock levels across a defined group of categories for a large, high-volume eCommerce retailer. You’ll own stock holding, availability, and warehouse space utilisation across a portfolio of suppliers. Working closely with the Buying team and supported by senior planning leadership, you’ll make sure sales-weighted availability is at the right level to drive revenue, hit key KPIs, and improve warehouse efficiency.
A bit about the role:
- Build long-term stock plans for both new and core lines, aligned with sales budgets, financial targets, and promo plans.
- Partner with Buying to drive KPIs such as sales, margin, basket size, and stock efficiency.
- Prepare clear KPI reporting with practical, actionable insights.
- Recommend products for exit based on rate of sale, aged stock, and supplier MOQs.
- Build strong, long-term partnerships from onboarding through to regular performance reviews.
- Manage new product launches against critical path timelines.
- Create and share medium- to long-term forecasts with suppliers.
A bit about you:
- Experience in an Assistant or Junior Merchandiser / Planner role.
- Ideally from an eCommerce retail environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working with complex data.
- Commercially minded, with a good understanding of product mix, margin, basket metrics, and stock efficiency.
- Highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and comfortable driving change.
- Customer-led, with a strong focus on availability and improving the overall offer.
