We're working with an established, growing SaaS business looking for a Tech Lead to join its product engineering team. This is a hands-on role, combining software engineering with technical direction, architecture and mentoring. You'll lead a cross-functional product squad and play a key role in the continued development and modernisation of a large-scale SaaS platform.
The role:
- Lead the technical direction of a cross-functional engineering squad
- Remain hands-on, building scalable, high-quality software
- Mentor and support engineers through technical reviews, 1:1s and development plans
- Work closely with Product and Data teams to shape new features and solutions
- Take ownership of architecture, performance, scalability, reliability and security
- Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of the platform
- Help improve engineering practices, deployment frequency and overall delivery
- Support technical hiring as the engineering team continues to grow
What we're looking for:
- Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring - essential
- Experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Lead Engineer or Technical Lead
- Experience within a SaaS, MarTech or data-driven product environment
- Previous experience mentoring and developing engineers
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript would be beneficial
- Experience working in cloud-native environments using AWS or GCP
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD
- Strong understanding of software design principles and testing practices
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Data and Engineering teams
