We are partnering with a leading agency/consultancy seeking an experienced Business Director / Strategy Director to drive strategic growth across a portfolio of key clients.
The Role
As Business Director / Strategy Director, you will lead the development of strategic recommendations that drive business growth, improve performance, and unlock new opportunities for clients. Working closely with client leadership teams and internal specialists, you will use data, market intelligence, customer insights, and commercial analysis to shape strategic direction and support decision-making at a senior level. This is a pure strategy role focused on business outcomes rather than creative development or communications planning.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic projects focused on business growth, customer acquisition, market expansion, and performance improvement
- Developing data-driven recommendations aligned to client business objectives
- Identifying commercial opportunities through market, competitor, and consumer analysis
- Translating complex business challenges into clear strategic frameworks and action plans
- Partnering with senior client stakeholders to influence decision-making and long-term planning
- Evaluating marketing, media, and commercial performance to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth
- Building business cases, investment recommendations, and growth roadmaps
- Presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership teams and executive stakeholders
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic plans are successfully implemented
- Contributing to thought leadership, innovation, and strategic best practices across the business
You – Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a strategic role within an agency, consultancy, media, marketing, or commercial environment
- Strong background in business strategy, growth strategy, commercial planning, or marketing effectiveness
- Ability to analyse data and market trends to develop actionable business recommendations
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and presenting to executive-level audiences
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business performance drivers
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to structure complex challenges and communicate solutions clearly
- Experience leading strategic projects from insight generation through to recommendation and implementation
- Strong presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members is advantageous
