SPG Resourcing is currently partnering with a leading pensions organisation to recruit a DC Product Owner to support the continuous development and optimisation of key digital products and platforms within a complex operational environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business focused on delivering high-quality services through modern, scalable systems. The role will play a key part in ensuring product enhancements deliver measurable business value while improving operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the DC Product Manager, the DC Product Owner will be responsible for end-to-end business analysis and delivery of product backlog items. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define requirements, improve processes, and deliver solutions that align with business objectives. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring that product changes are effectively prioritised, developed, tested, and deployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver detailed business analysis across the DC product backlog
- Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements
- Evaluate business and system data to support decision-making and identify improvement opportunities
- Map and redesign business processes (“as-is” and “to-be”) to drive efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective solutions
- Support testing activities to ensure solutions meet defined requirements
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party suppliers
- Support the prioritisation and refinement of the product backlog
- Produce clear documentation, including release notes and user training materials
- Lead business readiness activities to support successful deployments
- Assist with root cause analysis of critical system issues
- Promote and embed best practices within the product management framework
Required Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Ability to work across complex business processes at a detailed level
- Proven experience identifying process improvements and gaining stakeholder buy-in
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and offshore teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience supporting end-to-end project delivery
Desirable Experience
- Experience within regulated or data-sensitive environments
- Understanding of data governance and risk management principles
- Experience supporting large-scale system or platform implementations
- Exposure to operational or customer-focused platforms
This role offers hybrid working, with two to three days per week in the office to support collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
