About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
IT Project Manager to join an established project delivery team and take ownership of a range of medium-sized technology projects.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Manager who has already delivered IT projects and is looking to work across a varied technology landscape.
You don't need to be a technical specialist, but you should have a genuine interest in technology and be comfortable working with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
Projects will typically fall across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, networks, and data & insight , giving you exposure to a broad range of technology initiatives.
You will generally manage around two projects at any one time , depending on their size and complexity, with project values ranging from approximately
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
- Manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.
- Track and forecast project budgets and costs.
- Produce regular project reporting and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Manage suppliers, delivery partners and contracts.
- Develop business cases and supporting project documentation.
- Facilitate technical design discussions and decision-making.
- Lead and facilitate Steering Groups, ensuring effective decision-making and governance.
- Manage project stage gates and escalate risks and issues where appropriate.
- Support procurement activity and commercial processes.
- Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ensure projects deliver against agreed objectives, timescales, budgets and governance requirements.
- Identify and manage opportunities to reduce risk through project delivery.

- Proven experience delivering
IT projects within a structured project environment.
- Experience delivering projects of moderate size and complexity.
- Experience working with either
Agile, Waterfall or both methodologies.
- Strong project governance, risk and issue management experience.
- Experience managing suppliers and contracts.
- Strong budget and commercial management skills.
- Experience presenting to and facilitating Steering Groups.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and delivery partners.
- A genuine interest in technology and a willingness to understand technical concepts.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, personable approach and the ability to work effectively within a relatively small team.
