Our Engineering Team operates across two key development centres – New Malden in the UK and Hamburg in Germany – collaborating closely to develop and maintain Sperry Marine’s diverse product portfolio and support an ambitious future roadmap.
We are seeking a Systems Test Engineer to join our Engineering Department in New Malden on a 9–12 month contract. This is a hands‑on, office‑based role suited to a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
You Will Work Closely With Cross‑Functional Engineering Teams To:
- Understand project requirements and define test scopes
- Support software and hardware testing activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead testing for complex and higher‑risk system components
- Deepen product knowledge and troubleshoot system issues
- Ensure lab safety and assist with equipment/software setup
- Drive continuous improvements in testing processes and tools
- Execute tests for medium‑complexity projects on time and to specification
- Review and improve test cases to meet objectives
About You:
- Strong understanding of hardware/software interaction and system‑level testing
- Proficiency in manual and/or automated testing
- Ability to analyse and resolve defects
- Experience writing and improving test plans and scripts
- Knowledge of requirements and test management tools (e.g., DOORS, Xray)
- Python experience desirable
- ISTQB certification advantageous
- Background in testing safety‑critical or regulated products (Marine, Automotive, Aerospace)
