Sperry Marine are a global leader in the marine navigation systems industry, providing integrated technical solutions for the commercial and naval markets. Headquartered in the UK, we have an extensive international presence across Europe, the Americas and Asia, employing almost 400 people across ten countries.

To strengthen our defence business, we are looking for a Sales Manager – Naval EMEA. In this role you will be responsible for selling our navigation and integrated bridge systems for naval vessels across Europe and NATO countries, working with shipyards, integrators, and direct customers.

  • Managing the full sales cycle (lead generation -> proposal -> contract closure)
  • Building and maintaining relationships with naval and defence customers
  • Identifying potential customers, assessing competitors, and staying informed about industry trends
  • Forecasting new-build and retrofit projects
  • Presenting and demonstrating technical solutions
  • Preparing bids, tenders, and proposals
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Contracts, and internal technical teams to ensure customer specifications are met, contracts are negotiated successfully, and deliveries are made in a timely manner
  • Representing Sperry Marine at trade shows and conferences

About You

  • Proven sales experience in the naval or defence sector
  • Track record of closing complex, high-value projects (~USD 10 million)
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with naval clients, defence stakeholders and industry partners
  • Demonstrated capability to present, demonstrate and articulate technical solutions clearly
  • Experience with tenders and contract management
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Effective communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments
  • Deep understanding of naval technologies, capabilities, and geopolitical considerations that influence defence procurement decisions
  • EU or UK citizenship, valid driving licence, ability to pass security clearance, and willingness to travel up to approx. 30%

Nice to have

  • Significant background in the naval or defence sector, knowledge of maritime standards and regulations (e.g. IEC 60945, IEC 61162 series, Class Society or USCG requirements), or prior service in the navy or coast guard.
